A 150-Year Oddity
The early life of Melvin Jones is somewhat shrouded in mystery and his genealogy shown here is not recorded in official LCI documentation.
John Calvin Jones and Lydia Mable Gibler had EIGHT children, with Melvin Jones being child #4. John Calvin was married a second time to Cicily Josephine Tanner which resulted in three more daughters, Melvin’s half-sisters. Information as to the termination of John Calvin’s first marriage could not be found.
Strangely enough, Melvin and his step-mother, Cicily Tanner, were both born in the same year (1879) and both died in 1961.
John Calvin Jones was born in 1850 and his youngest daughter, Annette Naomi Jones, died in 2000—a span of 150 years.
