A New Book on Founding of LCI

The Two Faces of the Lion (2020)
Unknown history of the foundation of “The International Association
of Lions Clubs”

History often leads us to its rediscovery, a re-reading, a revision, to clarify and highlight fundamental, but unjustly overshadowed, characters, historical events, as they have happened. The history of our Association, in particular of its foundation, which is unknown to most or misrepresented or reported incorrectly, is no exception.

And it is essential when carrying out a historical review, to maintain an impartial attitude, without letting yourself be diverted from personal beliefs. This can be done by letting historical documents narrate. By following this criterion, one does not err or lead to error, and the reader, at the end of the reading, will form his own, free, conviction.

In my book, people of a hundred years ago emerge forcefully, who start living again under the reader’s eyes, their faces, their personalities, the real roles that each of them has played in the birth and growth of the Association re-emerge. The events unfold before our eyes, and we relive them together with the protagonists, we participate in their enthusiasm, their interventions, their humanity.

They return to live thanks and through us, rightly returning to the memory of generations, and coming out of that opaque limbo that has kept them prisoners for too long.
